We dedicate 2% of our revenues for humanitarian work.

The Kyosei Fund is one of the practical expressions of our company philosophy of Kyosei, whereby we consider our company to be a public body belonging to the society at large – working together with others to promote the common good.

Program Implementation

The concept of the program is simple: a material portion of our revenues will be directly and actively returned to the communities that tie into our business, both locally and globally.  We have dedicated 2% of our revenues (not profits) to that purpose: divided equally between the regions and communities that produce and those that use our products.

The importance we place upon Kyosei (common good) is evidenced by our approach to this program.  Instead of allocating a part of our profits (the bottom line) for this purpose – as most companies do – we have taken the bold step to directly take out a part of our revenues (the top line) to fund this program.

There are two arms to this program.  One of them provides funding within the regions that use our products, namely the USA; the other benefits communities in the countries from which we source our products.

Supporting Philanthropic Causes in the United States

In the United States, charitable organizations working in one or more of the following areas are eligible for funding through this program:

• Cultural Heritage and Traditional Arts
• Environment
• Economic and Social Justice  

We have identified a few organizations that we believe are making significant contribution to the society through their work. Our customers may choose to direct the funding towards a specific organization from this list; and may also nominate other worthy organizations for inclusion in our program as potential beneficiaries.

A beneficiary organization must be a duly registered charitable organization. Its span of understanding of the issues must be global, though it may focus its work locally, nationally, or internationally.  Also, the scope of such an organization may not be limited to benefit a specific religious, national, or ethnic identity..

Supporting Communities Internationally

The other arm of the program benefits those societies from which we source our products. Here, we identify opportunities, independently or through bona fide NGOs, to support programs that promote the well being of artists, their families and communities, as well as the promotion of various indigenous artistic traditions.

Program Management & Audit

Our Certified Public Accounting firm has been engaged to make the audit of this program a regular part of its work. The CPA firm directly reports to the president of our company about its analysis and findings as regards this program. While the program is voluntary in nature, we find this program to be a source of inspiration for our company. Thus we are absolutely committed to the letter and spirit of the program.
